The Garden of Rememberance, Parnell Square (I)
The garden was established in 1966 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising and is dedicated to all who died during this time in the struggle for Irish independence. It was designed by Daithí P. Hanley. The main sculpture is of the Children of Lir by Oisin Kelly, it depicts characters from the tragic Irish legend in which four children were turned into swans by their stepmother.
